From the 12th to the 23rd of November 2007, ASPAT Senegal organized a workshop of capacity reinforcement in the field of social communication. The objective of the workshop was to help young people to understand communication processes through image (illustration and comic strips) and to develop their interaction with the public. The project direct beneficiaries were the community associations’ network of Colobane, Gueule tapée and youths from the Grand Dakar commune.
There were all together 47 participants and they received the training according to the method of Participatory Active Research Method (PARM). The project led to the conclusion to give young people regular training on the techniques of research and of production of various cultural items to be used in the community environment. The results should now be spreading in the community networks and continue to give others a chance to learn. The works and illustrations will also be the object of a big exhibition through various publications and websites.
